CVSS v3.1 |
Improper output neutralization (XML injection) in QDom comment, CDATA, and processing-instruction serialization in Qt XML from 4.0.0 through 6.11 allows untrusted text serialized by an application into those nodes to inject arbitrary XML markup, because the node terminators are not escaped under the default InvalidDataPolicy (AcceptInvalidChars). Fixed in Qt 6.12.
An out-of-bounds read (buffer over-read) vulnerability exists in QTextCodec::codecForName() in Qt. When the function is called with a QByteArray that is not NUL-terminated (for example, one created with QByteArray::fromRawData()), the codec-name matching routine reads past the end of the supplied buffer. In most cases this results in an incorrect text codec being selected; in the worst case, if the over-read reaches unmapped memory, the process crashes (denial of service). The over-read is bounded by the length of the longest codec-name candidate, and the out-of-bounds bytes are only compared internally against Qt's fixed list of codec names, so no data is disclosed to an attacker. Applications that do not pass non-NUL-terminated QByteArrays to QTextCodec::codecForName() are not exposed. The affected code resides in the Qt5Compat module from Qt 6.0.0 onward, and in Qt Core (qtbase) in Qt 4.x and Qt 5.x.
An Open Redirect vulnerability (CWE-601) exists in the OAuth/OIDC authentication implementation of the Axivion Dashboard. The login flow did not properly restrict the post-authentication redirect to the application's own origin, so a user who follows a crafted login link can be sent to an untrusted external site after authenticating against the genuine Dashboard. Because the link points at the legitimate Dashboard, this can be abused for phishing, for example credential or second-factor theft via a convincing look-alike page. Exploitation requires the victim to follow the attacker-supplied link and complete the authentication flow.
| The implementation of an internal and undocumented Dashboard API endpoint (POST /api/users/~/{user}/tokens) forgot to ensure an HTTP request for creating an API Token for another user had sufficient permission to do so.
Precondition for successful exploitation was a preexisting internal user (with more privileges than the attacker), the attacker knowing its login name and the attacker being able to authenticate to the Dashboard via OAuth/OIDC. The attacker would then have had to forge a token creation API request on behalf of the other user and could have authenticated and finalized the token creation with their own OAuth/OIDC credentials. In the worst case, this would mean an attacker could have become Dashboard Administrator and been able to perform all administrative actions if the preexisting internal user had administrative privileges. In combination with a separate weakness, this could have further led to code execution on the host system running the Dashboard with the privileges of the OS-User running the Dashboard server. |
Insufficient validation of node IDs in Qt SVG module allows arbitrary QML/JavaScript code injection when loading malicious SVG files through the VectorImage component in Qt Quick. While QML execution is typically more restricted than native code execution, this could still lead to denial of service, information disclosure, or other impacts depending on the application's privilege level and data access.
Integer overflow in Qt 3.3 before 3.3.7, 4.1 before 4.1.5, and 4.2 before 4.2.1, as used in the KDE khtml library, kdelibs 3.1.3, and possibly other packages, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code via a crafted pixmap image.
The UTF-8 decoder in codecs/qutfcodec.cpp in Qt 3.3.8 and 4.2.3 does not reject long UTF-8 sequences as required by the standard, which allows remote attackers to conduct cross-site scripting (XSS) and directory traversal attacks via long sequences that decode to dangerous metacharacters.
src/network/ssl/qsslcertificate.cpp in Nokia Trolltech Qt 4.x does not properly handle a '\0' character in a domain name in the Subject Alternative Name field of an X.509 certificate, which allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof arbitrary SSL servers via a crafted certificate issued by a legitimate Certification Authority, a related issue to CVE-2009-2408.
QLowEnergyController in Qt before 6.8.2 mishandles malformed Bluetooth ATT commands, leading to an out-of-bounds read (or division by zero). This is fixed in 5.15.19, 6.5.9, and 6.8.2.
When the module renders a Svg file that contains a <pattern> element, it might end up rendering it recursively leading to stack overflow DoS
The module will parse a <pattern> node which is not a child of a structural node. The node will be deleted after creation but might be accessed later leading to a use after free.
There is an incomplete cleanup vulnerability in Qt Network's Schannel support on Windows which can lead to a Denial of Service over a long period. This issue affects Qt from 5.15.0 through 6.8.3, from 6.9.0 before 6.9.2.
There is a Heap-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability in QTextMarkdownImporter. This requires an incorrectly formatted markdown file to be passed to QTextMarkdownImporter to trigger the overflow. This issue affects Qt from 6.8.0 to 6.8.4. Versions up to 6.6.0 are known to be unaffected, and the fix is in 6.8.4 and later.
An issue was discovered in HTTP2 in Qt before 5.15.18, 6.x before 6.2.13, 6.3.x through 6.5.x before 6.5.7, and 6.6.x through 6.7.x before 6.7.3. Code to make security-relevant decisions about an established connection may execute too early, because the encrypted() signal has not yet been emitted and processed..
QAbstractOAuth in Qt Network Authorization in Qt before 5.15.17, 6.x before 6.2.13, 6.3.x through 6.5.x before 6.5.6, and 6.6.x through 6.7.x before 6.7.1 uses only the time to seed the PRNG, which may result in guessable values.
An issue was discovered in gui/util/qktxhandler.cpp in Qt before 5.15.17, 6.x before 6.2.12, 6.3.x through 6.5.x before 6.5.5, and 6.6.x before 6.6.2. A buffer overflow and application crash can occur via a crafted KTX image file.
When loading a specifically crafted ICNS format image file in QImage then it will trigger a crash. This issue affects Qt from versions 6.3.0 through 6.5.9, from 6.6.0 through 6.8.4, 6.9.0. This is fixed in 6.5.10, 6.8.5 and 6.9.1.
In Qt 6.5.4, 6.5.5, and 6.6.2, QNetworkReply header data might be accessed via a dangling pointer in Qt for WebAssembly (wasm). (Earlier and later versions are unaffected.)
The named pipes in qtsingleapp in Qt 5.x, as used in qBittorrent and SugarSync, are configured for remote access and allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via an unspecified string.
Stack-based buffer overflow in QXmlSimpleReader in Qt 4.8.5 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a xml file with multiple nested open tags.
