Null pointer dereference when composing from a specially crafted draft message in Mutt >1.5.2 <2.2.12
Null pointer dereference when viewing a specially crafted email in Mutt >1.5.2 <2.2.12
A NULL pointer dereference in the MMS Write Named Variable List handler, which may allow a network adjacent attacker to crash the server by sending a WriteRequest with an empty listOfData field.
A vulnerability exists in the Health & Safety (HS) application of NASA's Core Flight System (cFS). The flaw allows the application to crash via segmentation fault when processing a routine Housekeeping Telemetry request, leading to denial of service.
SurrealDB before v2.6.1 (and before v3.0.0-beta.3) contains a denial of service vulnerability in its embedded JavaScript scripting engine, which is enabled via the --allow-scripting capability (disabled by default). Any user able to execute arbitrary queries — including unauthenticated guests when --allow-guests is enabled — can use built-in string functions to construct a large string and pass it to the JavaScript runtime for compilation, triggering a null pointer dereference in the underlying QuickJS-NG engine. This causes the server process to terminate immediately without graceful shutdown, requiring a manual restart. The issue was fixed by updating the rquickjs dependency from v0.9.0 to v0.11.0.
A user with read-only privileges is able to craft an aggregation pipeline using the $linearFill window function operator with a specific sortBy expression type to cause the mongod process to terminate abnormally, resulting in denial of service. The issue stems from insufficient validation of sort specifications during execution.
In checkSsrcCollisionOnRcv of RtpSession.cpp, there is a possible memory safety issue due to a missing null check. This could lead to remote denial of service with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
Vulnerability in the Oracle Java SE, Oracle GraalVM for JDK, Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition product of Oracle Java SE (component: 2D). Supported versions that are affected are Oracle Java SE: 8u491, 8u491-perf, 11.0.31, 17.0.19, 21.0.11, 25.0.3, 26.0.1; Oracle GraalVM for JDK: 17.0.19 and 21.0.11; Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition: 21.3.18. Difficult to exploit vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise Oracle Java SE, Oracle GraalVM for JDK, Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized ability to cause a partial denial of service (partial DOS) of Oracle Java SE, Oracle GraalVM for JDK, Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition. Note: This vulnerability applies to Java deployments, typically in clients running sandboxed Java Web Start applications or sandboxed Java applets, that load and run untrusted code (e.g., code that comes from the internet) and rely on the Java sandbox for security. This vulnerability does not apply to Java deployments, typically in servers, that load and run only trusted code (e.g., code installed by an administrator). CVSS 3.1 Base Score 3.7 (Availability impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L).
A NULL pointer dereference in the SQLite Session Extension in SQLite 3.53.1 and SQLite trunk builds before check-in e807d4e3798efd53 allows an attacker who can supply a malformed changeset blob to cause a denial of service. The issue occurs when sqlite3changeset_apply_v3() applies a corrupt changeset and reaches sqlite3_value_type() with a NULL sqlite3_value pointer.
A MongoDB server initiating an outbound TLS connection may terminate abnormally when processing a malformed OCSP response from a remote peer during the TLS handshake. OCSP stapling validation is enabled by default for outgoing TLS connections. Affected scenarios require the remote peer to hold a certificate issued by the cluster's trusted certificate authority, or for the connection to traverse an untrusted network path.
Capstone is a disassembly framework. Versions prior to 6.0.0-Alpha8 and 5.0.8 have a NULL pointer dereference in `modRMRequired()` and `decode()` when disassembling 3DNow! opcodes (`0F 0F`) in builds compiled with `-DCAPSTONE_X86_REDUCE`, allowing a remote attacker to crash any application using the reduced X86 Capstone library by supplying a crafted input containing the 4-byte sequence `0F 0F <modrm> <imm8>`. Versions 6.0.0-Alpha8 and 5.0.8 patch the issue.
| The MCTP-over-I2C+GPIO target binding in Zephyr (subsys/pmci/mctp/mctp_i2c_gpio_target.c) processes pseudo-register writes from an I2C bus master byte-by-byte in mctp_i2c_gpio_target_write_received() without validating the order or the receive buffer. In the affected versions the MCTP_I2C_GPIO_RX_MSG_ADDR (data) handler dereferences and writes through b->rx_pkt without checking that the receive buffer was allocated: a controller that selects the data register and writes a byte without first sending the length register (which is what allocates the buffer) causes a write of an attacker-chosen byte through a NULL/unallocated mctp_pktbuf pointer (i.e. into a small attacker-advanceable offset above address 0), producing memory corruption or a hard fault.
The same handler also performs a write-then-check bounds test, allowing a one-byte heap overflow at data[255] when more than 255 data bytes are sent.
Because the I2C target callback is invoked with raw bytes supplied by whatever device is the bus master and the binding performs no authentication, a malicious or malfunctioning controller on the bus can trigger these without any prior protocol state, leading to memory corruption and/or denial of service on the target device.
The vulnerable code was introduced when the I2C+GPIO target binding was added and shipped in Zephyr v4.3.0 and v4.4.0. The fix defers allocation to the first data byte with a NULL check, treats a missing length as a zero-sized packet rejected by libmctp, and moves the bounds check before the store. |
Invalid pointer in the DOM: Bindings (WebIDL) component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 153, Firefox ESR 115.38, Firefox ESR 140.13, Thunderbird 153, and Thunderbird 140.13.
Nitro PDF Pro before 14.43 for Windows contains a NULL pointer dereference vulnerability in the JavaScript implementation of app.alert(). When app.alert() is called with more than one argument and the first argument evaluates to null (for example, app.alert(app.activeDocs, true) when app.activeDocs is null), the engine routes the call through a fallback path intended for non-string arguments. In this path, js_ValueToString() is invoked on the null value and returns an invalid string pointer, which is then passed to JS_GetStringChars() without validation. Dereferencing this pointer leads to an access violation and application crash when opening a crafted PDF. For example, 14.41.1.4 and 14.42.0.34 have been reported as vulnerable.
libheif is a HEIF and AVIF file format decoder and encoder. Versions prior to 1.22.0 crashes in the public C API `heif_image_handle_get_image_tiling()` when a malformed uncompressed HEIF image item has an associated `uncC` property but no associated `ispe` property. In debug builds this trips the `ispe && uncC` assertion in `ImageItem_uncompressed::get_heif_image_tiling()`. In a release/NDEBUG ASan build, the same file causes a null pointer read at address `0xa8`. Version 1.22.0 fixes the issue.
A NULL pointer dereference in the AP4_AtomSampleTable::GetSample() function of Aleksoid1978 MPC-BE before commit 4341cb3 allows attackers to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via a crafted MP4 file.
In NLnet Labs Unbound 1.10.0 up to and including 1.25.1, when 'serve-expired: yes' is set together with a 'response-ip: <net> redirect' /'response-ip-data: <net> CNAME <target>' rule (or the RPZ 'rpz-cname-override' equivalent), a remote client who controls any delegated domain can crash the daemon. The serve-expired-client-timeout callback runs a two-pass loop to chase the respip-generated CNAME alias; on the second pass it resets 'alias_rrset' but not 'partial_rep'. Later, this inconsistency leads to a NULL pointer dereference and an eventual crash. A malicious actor can exploit the vulnerability by controlling any zone that replies with an A/AAAA record that falls inside the configured response-ip/rpz subnet. By delaying the answer when the previous record has expired, the vulnerable path of 'serve-expired-client-timeout' is taken leading to denial of service via the server crash.
mrubyc through 3.4.1 was found to contain a NULL pointer dereference in src/vm.c in op_super() / OP_SUPER due to a missing runtime guard for top-level super.
A null pointer dereference vulnerability exists in the Matter SDK (connectedhomeip) before 1.4.0, affecting the ReadRevisionAttribute function used in multiple clusters (Channel, Account Login, TargetNavigator, etc.). The function lacks proper validation of the delegate pointer before dereferencing. A remote unauthenticated attacker can exploit this issue by sending a crafted read request, causing the device to crash (denial of service). This issue has been confirmed in SDK version v1.4 (commit ab3d5ae).
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amdkfd: fix NULL pointer bug in svm_range_set_attr
The process_info could be NULL if user doesn't call kfd_ioctl_acquire_vm
before calling kfd_ioctl_svm.
