CVE-2026-43009 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-07 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix incorrect pruning due to atomic fetch precision tracking When backtrack_insn encounters a BPF_STX instruction with BPF_ATOMIC and BPF_FETCH, the src register (or r0 for BPF_CMPXCHG) also acts as a destination, thus receiving the old value from the memory location. The current backtracking logic does not account for this. It treats atomic fetch operations the same as regular stores where the src register is only an input. This leads the backtrack_insn to fail to propagate precision to the stack location, which is then not marked as precise! Later, the verifier's path pruning can incorrectly consider two states equivalent when they differ in terms of stack state. Meaning, two branches can be treated as equivalent and thus get pruned when they should not be seen as such. Fix it as follows: Extend the BPF_LDX handling in backtrack_insn to also cover atomic fetch operations via is_atomic_fetch_insn() helper. When the fetch dst register is being tracked for precision, clear it, and propagate precision over to the stack slot. For non-stack memory, the precision walk stops at the atomic instruction, same as regular BPF_LDX. This covers all fetch variants. A local attacker on the same host can pre-create this predictable directory or place a symlink before the application starts. Affected versions: Spring Boot 4.0.0 through 4.0.6; 3.5.0 through 3.5.14; 3.4.0 through 3.4.16; 3.3.0 through 3.3.19; 2.7.0 through 2.7.33.
CVE-2026-85028 1 Aws 1 Aws-fpga 2026-09-03 7.8 High
Creation of a temporary file in a directory with insecure permissions in the FPGA management tool installation component in AWS FPGA Development Kit (aws-fpga) before 2.3.4 might allow local users to execute arbitrary code with root privileges via crafted shell content placed at a predictable path in a world-writable temporary directory, which the installation step reads after elevating its own privileges. To remediate this issue, users should upgrade to version 2.3.4.

CVE-2026-63404 1 Contribsys 1 Faktory 2026-08-28 N/A
Faktory is a language-agnostic background job server. In versions prior to 1.10.0, the embedded Redis bootstrapper is vulnerable to an insecure temporary file flaw that lets a local unprivileged user hijack the Redis configuration and escalate to root. It writes its startup configuration to a fixed, predictable, world-writable path, /tmp/redis.conf, only creating the file if it does not already exist and never validating it on later boots. Because /tmp is world-writable, a local unprivileged user can pre-create /tmp/redis.conf with attacker-chosen Redis directives before Faktory starts, and Faktory will use the planted file verbatim. Faktory only overrides the unixsocket, dir, and logfile options, leaving directives such as bind, protected-mode, requirepass, and loadmodule attacker-controlled. This lets an attacker silently expose the entire job queue over an unauthenticated network port with no visible error to the administrator. Because the official systemd unit runs Faktory, and the redis-server child it spawns, as root, an attacker can also supply a loadmodule directive to execute arbitrary native code in the root-owned Redis process, escalating from a local unprivileged user to root. This issue is fixed in version 1.10.0.
CVE-2026-63693 1 Dell 17 Alienware Area-51 Aat225, Alienware Area 51m R2, Alienware Aurora R13 and 14 more 2026-08-27 6.6 Medium
Dell Client BIOS contains an Improper Link Resolution Before File Access ('Link Following') vulnerability. A low privileged attacker with local access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Arbitrary Write
CVE-2026-73585 1 Redhat 1 Enterprise Linux 2026-08-25 6.3 Medium
A flaw was found in sblim-cmpi-base. Insecure temporary file creation in the provider registration scripts allows a local unprivileged user to perform a symlink attack. By creating a symlink in a world-writable directory, an attacker can redirect privileged writes to an arbitrary file during script execution in a privileged context. This can lead to the overwrite of root-owned files, potentially disrupting system services or operation. Exploitation is conditional on the script running with elevated privileges and may be mitigated by sticky-directory symlink protections.
CVE-2026-73584 1 Redhat 1 Enterprise Linux 2026-08-25 6.3 Medium
A flaw was found in sblim-sfcb. A local, low-privileged attacker can exploit a race condition during privileged instance migration by manipulating a temporary file in the `/tmp` directory. By repeatedly recreating a symbolic link, the attacker can redirect privileged output to an arbitrary file. This can lead to privileged file corruption or a denial of service (DoS) on the system.
CVE-2026-55086 1 Etherpad 1 Etherpad 2026-08-25 4.2 Medium
Etherpad is a real-time collaborative editor. Prior to 3.1.0, src/node/handler/ImportHandler.ts and src/node/handler/ExportHandler.ts derive temporary filenames from Math.random() and place them in os.tmpdir(). On a host with a shared world-writable temporary directory, a local unprivileged attacker who predicts a filename can precreate a symbolic link to a file writable by the Etherpad process. Subsequent import or export operations can follow the link through fs.writeFile, fs.rename, or document-conversion output and overwrite the target with partially attacker-controlled content. This issue is fixed in version 3.1.0.
CVE-2026-53759 1 Linuxfabrik 1 Monitoring-plugins 2026-08-21 N/A
linuxfabrik-lib provides Python modules for database access, caching, shell execution, and API integrations. Prior to version 4.2.0, db_sqlite.py created SQLite databases at predictable paths in the shared /tmp directory and followed attacker-created symbolic links at those paths. An attacker who controls a local monitoring account can create a symlink such as /tmp/linuxfabrik-monitoring-plugins-docker-stats.db and then trigger a sudo-authorized plugin, causing the root process to create or modify the symlink target. The primitive can overwrite arbitrary paths, cause denial of service, or manipulate an existing SQLite database through a crafted rollback journal or write-ahead log. The Monitoring Plugins integration also moved plugin caches through lib.db_sqlite.get_db_path() so they use the secured per-user directory. This issue is fixed in version 4.2.0.
CVE-2025-14602 1 Vsdesk 1 Vsdesk 2026-08-20 N/A
The application generates uploaded file names using a weak and predictable method based on the request timestamp. This allows a remote attacker to accurately guess or brute-force the generated filename within a short time window. An attacker can successfully locate and access uploaded files, which can be used to facilitate further attacks. Apply patch from vendor https://vsdesk.ru/ . Versions 14.0101 and on have the patch.
CVE-2026-75920 1 Phpmyfaq 1 Phpmyfaq 2026-08-20 5.3 Medium
phpMyFAQ before v4.1.6 writes content backup ZIP archives to the web-accessible document root at content.zip, exposing sensitive files including database credentials. Unauthenticated attackers can race concurrent requests to download the temporary ZIP file before deletion, or exploit XSS in admin contexts to trigger authenticated backups and retrieve the archive.
CVE-2026-50544 1 Northebridge 1 Luminalshine 2026-08-14 6.3 Medium
NortheBridge/luminalshine is a Sunshine-compatible game stream host for Moonlight. Prior to version 26.05.0-rc4, a latent gap exists on a default install, the file at `src/platform/windows/misc.cpp` lives at `C:\ProgramData\LuminalShine\config\apps.json` and is created by the `SYSTEM` service. Under Windows' default `C:\ProgramData` inheritance, that gives `BUILTIN\Users` only Read+Execute — not writable — so the canonical EoP doesn't actually trigger on a vanilla install. Version 26.05.0-rc4 contains a patch for the issue. As a workaround, use default condition DACLs for `ProgramData`.
CVE-2026-16791 1 Lenovo 1 Xclarity Essentials Onecli 2026-08-05 3.9 Low
A temporary file creation vulnerability in the Linux version of Lenovo XClarity Essentials OneCLI 5.5.0 and below could allow a local low-privileged attacker to overwrite or truncate arbitrary local files with program-generated data when OneCLI is executed with elevated privileges.

CVE-2022-48786 2 Linux, Redhat 5 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Aus and 2 more 2026-08-04 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vsock: remove vsock from connected table when connect is interrupted by a signal vsock_connect() expects that the socket could already be in the TCP_ESTABLISHED state when the connecting task wakes up with a signal pending. If this happens the socket will be in the connected table, and it is not removed when the socket state is reset. In this situation it's common for the process to retry connect(), and if the connection is successful the socket will be added to the connected table a second time, corrupting the list. Prevent this by calling vsock_remove_connected() if a signal is received while waiting for a connection. This is harmless if the socket is not in the connected table, and if it is in the table then removing it will prevent list corruption from a double add. Note for backporting: this patch requires d5afa82c977e ("vsock: correct removal of socket from the list"), which is in all current stable trees except 4.9.y.
