CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amd/display: Avoid divide by zero by initializing dummy pitch to 1
[Why]
If the dummy values in `populate_dummy_dml_surface_cfg()` aren't updated
then they can lead to a divide by zero in downstream callers like
CalculateVMAndRowBytes()
[How]
Initialize dummy value to a value to avoid divide by zero. |

f2fs: fix potential deadloop in prepare_compress_overwrite()
Jan Prusakowski reported a kernel hang issue as below:
When running xfstests on linux-next kernel (6.14.0-rc3, 6.12) I
encountered a problem in generic/475 test where fsstress process
gets blocked in __f2fs_write_data_pages() and the test hangs.
The options I used are:
MKFS_OPTIONS -- -O compression -O extra_attr -O project_quota -O quota /dev/vdc
MOUNT_OPTIONS -- -o acl,user_xattr -o discard,compress_extension=* /dev/vdc /vdc

The root cause is: once generic/475 starts toload error table to dm
device, f2fs_prepare_compress_overwrite() will loop reading compressed
cluster pages due to IO error, meanwhile it has held .writepages lock,
it can block all other writeback tasks.
Let's fix this issue w/ below changes:
- add f2fs_handle_page_eio() in prepare_compress_overwrite() to
detect IO error.
- detect cp_error earler in f2fs_read_multi_pages(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bnxt_en: Mask the bd_cnt field in the TX BD properly
The bd_cnt field in the TX BD specifies the total number of BDs for
the TX packet. The bd_cnt field has 5 bits and the maximum number
supported is 32 with the value 0.
CONFIG_MAX_SKB_FRAGS can be modified and the total number of SKB
fragments can approach or exceed the maximum supported by the chip.
Add a macro to properly mask the bd_cnt field so that the value 32
will be properly masked and set to 0 in the bd_cnd field.
Without this patch, the out-of-range bd_cnt value will corrupt the
TX BD and may cause TX timeout.
The next patch will check for values exceeding 32. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
block: mark GFP_NOIO around sysfs ->store()
sysfs ->store is called with queue freezed, meantime we have several
->store() callbacks(update_nr_requests, wbt, scheduler) to allocate
memory with GFP_KERNEL which may run into direct reclaim code path,
then potential deadlock can be caused.
Fix the issue by marking NOIO around sysfs ->store() |

| Affected versions of MISP allow any authenticated user to access TemplatesController::uploadFile() because the ACL entry for templates/uploadFile used the wildcard *. This bypasses the intended role restrictions applied to neighboring template-management operations.
The upload handler accepts arbitrary content with only minimal checks and writes it into app/tmp/files/. A low-privileged or read-only user can therefore repeatedly upload files and consume server disk space without requiring perm_add or perm_template. The fix changes the ACL requirement from * to perm_add.
The commit also rules out stronger impacts: uploaded files receive random names, path traversal/predictable overwrite is not available, the temporary directory is outside the web root, and the files are not directly served over HTTP. Therefore, the issue should not be described as arbitrary file overwrite, stored XSS, or RCE.
Version affected: ≤2.5.45 |
| Affected versions of MISP allow authenticated users to retrieve object-reference records by UUID through EventGraphTool::get_reference_data() without first checking whether the requester is authorized to view the object the reference belongs to.
The vulnerable code queried ObjectReference.uuid directly and returned the matching row whenever it existed. Because no parent-object ACL was applied, a user who knew or obtained a reference UUID could retrieve information associated with an object outside their normal access scope. The commit explicitly states that any object reference could be returned by UUID without authorizing its parent object.
The fix retrieves the referenced object's object_id and calls fetchObjectSimple() with the current user. If the user cannot access that parent object, MISP now returns NotFoundException instead of exposing the reference.
Version affected: ≤2.5.45 |
| Affected versions of MISP permit unauthenticated or weakly constrained request paths to perform persistent work without adequate input bounds or rate limiting.
The users/forgot password-reset endpoint accepted an attacker-controlled email value without first imposing a reasonable length bound or validating its format. That value was then used to create an audit log entry and queue a password-reset job, causing the supplied value to be persisted more than once per request. The commit explicitly states that an unbounded unauthenticated request field was stored twice per call with no throttle.
The fix adds:
*
a maximum email input length of 1024 bytes;
*
email-format validation before persistent work;
*
a per-source pre-authentication request budget;
*
HTTP 429 responses when that budget is exceeded;
*
a 15-minute cooldown for API-access request emails;
*
POST-only handling and CSRF protection for the API-access request endpoint.
The new flood filter is specifically intended to limit persistent storage costs from anonymous requests such as password resets, registrations, and failed REST authentication attempts.

| ImageMagick before 7.1.2-30 and 6.9.13-55 contains a time-of-check-time-of-use (TOCTOU) vulnerability in the video decoder that allows attackers to bypass path policy write restrictions via symlink swaps. An attacker can replace a symlink between policy validation (check-time) and the file write operation (use-time) to write to policy-denied locations. |
| Dell SCG 5.0 Appliance versions prior to 5.36.00.16 and Dell SCG 5.0 Application versions prior to 5.36.00.00, contains an Execution with Unnecessary Privileges vulnerability. An unauthenticated attacker with local access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Protection mechanism bypass. This vulnerability is considered critical because a low-privileged operator with SSH access to the SCG host can gain root-level access to the host without requiring a password by leveraging the exposed Docker socket. Additionally, an attacker who compromises a service running within the orchestrator container can access the same socket and escape the container boundary to obtain host-level control. Dell recommends that customers upgrade at the earliest opportunity. |
| ImageMagick before 7.1.2-30 and 6.9.13-55 fails to properly lower the memory budget when an operation inside OpenPixelCache fails. Repeated triggering of such failures can exhaust the process memory budget and result in a denial of service. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
KVM: x86/mmu: WARN and clear role.invalid when creating a child shadow page
Explicitly clear role.invalid when deriving a child shadow page's role from
its parent to harden against bugs elsewhere in KVM, as violating KVM's
invariant that invalid pages are NOT on the list of active MMU pages leads
to use-after-free due to __kvm_mmu_prepare_zap_page() using list_add()
instead of list_move() when processing an invalid shadow page, i.e. makes a
bad situation far worse.
Yell loudly if the parent is invalid, as it means KVM has missed a validity
check, i.e. KVM is attempting to map memory using an invalid/obsolete root,
but continue on as the child is otherwise still a valid shadow page.
